LA ESTRATEGIA DE MAQUIAVELO
Raúl hizo muy bien en guardar silencio digno sobre las declaraciones publicadas el pasado lunes 21 de julio por Izvestia, relacionadas con la eventual instalación de bases para los bombarderos estratégicos rusos en nuestro país. La noticia se ofrecía a partir de hipótesis elaboradas en Rusia, por la obstinación yanqui con la idea de montar radares y plataformas de lanzamiento del escudo nuclear en las proximidades de la frontera de esa gran potencia. Ayer día 22 el general Norton Schwartz, nominado para ser el nuevo jefe del Estado Mayor de la Fuerza Aérea Norteamericana, declaró en el Senado que si Rusia hace eso cruzaría la línea roja, lo cual es inadmisible para la seguridad de Estados Unidos.Si dices que sí, te mato. Si dices que no, es igual, de todas formas te mato. Es la estrategia de Maquiavelo, que el imperio aplica a Cuba. No hay que darle explicaciones, ni pedir excusas o perdón.Lo que hace falta son nervios de acero en estos tiempos de genocidio, y Cuba los tiene. El imperio lo sabe. El sábado 26 de julio se cumplirán 55 años de lucha sin descanso. No existe mejor homenaje a los caídos en la acción, a los que murieron después sin abandonar nunca sus principios y a los que todavía combaten. Son símbolos de toda una generación que luchó. Es muy justa la alegría con que nuestro pueblo los recuerda.

Young Cubans Support New Social Security Bill
-HAVANA, Cuba, July 23 (acn) Discussion around Cuba’s new social security bill will serve to raise awareness among young people about the importance of certain changes made in this area, noted leaders of the island’s Young Communist League (UJC). The organization's national board recently outlined a group of actions in support of the implementation of the bill that includes measures that will gradually extend the retirement age by five years; women will ultimately be able to retire at age 60 and men at 65. Maday Iglesias, a member of the UJC national board, said the first action will be to guarantee the active participation of young workers and the organization’s members in a process of consultation and informing the people of the facts that led to the modification of the law. She mentioned the involvement of youth computer clubs to record and process information, and how law students could help clear up any questions and help people understand the new measures.
