Why Obstruct the Right to Life?

Alicia Alonso, one of the great ballerinas of all time, asked the people of the United States why the government of that country maintains a hostile policy against Cuba, evident in the conditions applied to giving aid to the island after Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.Alicia is very fond of the US people whom she considers among of her most loyal and vibrant followers. She spoke Tuesday at a gathering of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) where a call titled "With Cuba Today" was made to their colleagues around the world to promote humanitarian aid to help mitigate the devastation from the hurricanes and to demand an end to the criminal US blockade against Cuba.

It’s easy just to complain but more rewarding to suggest solutions.
So pshaw to both McCain and Obama. Here’s some of what our country really needs to reform our foreign policy.First, we shouldn’t have American military on foreign shores. We should bring home our troops from the 132 countries where they are stationed and put them under the authority of local officials to make our own streets safe and borders secure........Sixth, we should establish normal diplomatic ties with Cuba. It would be benefit our agriculture interests and would be better for South Florida. We should also give Guantanamo back to Cuba, after cleaning up the military and toxic waste there; it could make great Club Med. -Tony Seton is a veteran broadcast journalist who covered Watergate, eight elections, five space shots and produced Barbara Walters' news interviews.
